1 ϯⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲏ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲉⲣⲉⲙⲓⲁⲥ

2 ⲁⲣⲓⲫⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲡϭⲥ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲛϣⲱϣ .

Remember, O Lord, what has happened to us: behold, and look on our reproach.

3 ϫⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲁⲥⲟⲩⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲉϩⲁⲛϣⲉⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉⲛⲏⲓ ⲛϩⲁⲛϣⲉⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ .

Our inheritance has been turned away to aliens, our houses to strangers:

4 ⲁⲛϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⲛⲟⲣⲫⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲛⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲉⲣ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛϩⲁⲛⲭⲏⲣⲁ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ .

we are become orphans, we have no father, our mothers are as widows.

5 ⲡⲉⲛⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲛⲥⲟϥ ϧⲁϩⲁⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉⲛϣⲉ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩϣⲉⲃⲓⲱ ⲁⲩⲓ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲛⲉⲛⲙⲟϯ .

We have drunk our water for money; our wood is sold to us for a burden on our neck:

6 ⲁⲩϭⲟϫⲓ ⲛⲥⲱⲛ ⲁⲛϧⲓⲥⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲙⲧⲟⲛ .

we have been persecuted, we have laboured, we have had no rest.

7 ⲭⲏⲙⲓ ⲁⲩϯⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲥⲥⲟⲩⲣ ⲁⲩⲥⲓ ⲛⲱⲓⲕ .

Egypt gave the hand to us, Assur to their own satisfaction.

8 ⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲥⲉϣⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲁⲛϥⲁⲓ ϧⲁⲛⲟⲩⲁⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ .

Our fathers sinned, and are not: we have borne their iniquities.

9 ϩⲁⲛⲉⲃⲓⲁⲓⲕ ⲁⲩⲉⲣϭⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ϥϣⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲛϫⲉⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁⲥⲟⲧⲧⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩϫⲓϫ .

Servants have ruled over us: there is none to ransom us out of their hand.

10 ϧⲉⲛⲛⲉⲛⲩⲭⲏ ⲉⲛⲉⲓⲛⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⲡϩⲟ ⲛⲧⲥⲏϥⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡϣⲁϥⲉ .

We shall bring in our bread with danger of our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.

11 ⲡⲉⲛϣⲁⲣ ⲁϥⲑⲣⲟϣⲣⲉϣ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯⲛⲟⲩⲑⲣⲓⲣ ⲁⲩϥⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⲡϩⲟ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲁⲣⲁⲑⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡϩⲉⲃⲱⲛ .

Our skin is blackened like an oven; they are convulsed, because of the storms of famine.

12 ⲁⲩⲑⲉⲃⲓⲟ ⲛϩⲁⲛϩⲓⲟⲙⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲥⲓⲱⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲛⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁ .

They humbled the women in Sion, the virgins in the cities of Juda.

13 ϩⲁⲛⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϫⲓϫ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϯⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓϧⲉⲗⲗⲟⲓ .

Princes were hanged up by their hands: the elders were not honoured.

14 ⲛⲓⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲁⲩϭⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲓⲙⲓ ⲁⲩⲛⲟⲩⲧ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲁⲛϧⲉⲗϣⲓⲣⲓ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛϩⲁⲛϣⲉ .

The chosen men lifted up the voice in weeping, and the youths fainted under the wood.

15 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓϧⲉⲗⲗⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲗⲟϫⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲡⲩⲗⲏ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲛⲕ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲓⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲗⲙⲟⲥ .

And the elders ceased from the gate, the chosen men ceased from their music.

16 ⲁϥⲕⲏⲛ ⲛϫⲉⲫⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲡⲉⲛⲭⲟⲣⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲉⲃ ⲉⲩϩⲏⲃⲓ .

The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

17 ⲁϥϩⲉⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲭⲗⲟⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲁⲫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ .

The crown has fallen from our head: yea, woe to us! for we have sinned.

18 ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲕϩ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲛⲃⲁⲗ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲭⲁⲕⲓ .

For this has grief come; our heart is sorrowful: for this our eyes are darkened.

19 ⲉϫⲉⲛⲡⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲓⲱⲛ ϫⲉⲁϥⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲛⲓⲃⲁϣⲟⲣ ⲁⲩⲥⲓⲛⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ .

Over the mountain of Sion, because it is made desolate, foxes have walked therein.

20 ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲡϭⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲕϣⲟⲡ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲡⲉⲕⲑⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ϫⲱⲟⲩ ϣⲁϫⲱⲟⲩ .

But thou, O Lord, shalt dwell for ever; thy throne shall endure to generation and generation.

21 ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲭⲛⲁⲉⲣⲡⲉⲛⲱⲃϣ ⲉⲩϭⲣⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲭⲛⲁⲥⲟϫⲡⲉⲛ ϣⲁϩⲁⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲏⲟⲩ .

Wherefore wilt thou utterly forget us, and abandon us a long time?

22 ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲡϭⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲁⲥⲑⲟ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲃⲉⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ .

Turn us, O Lord, to thee, and we shall be turned; and renew our days as before.

23 ϫⲉϧⲉⲛⲟⲩϩⲓⲡϩⲟ ⲁⲕϩⲓⲡϩⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲁⲕϫⲱⲛⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲛ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ .

For thou hast indeed rejected us; thou hast been very wroth against us.
