1 ⲁϥⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲭⲏⲙⲓ ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲙⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲏ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲗⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ϩⲓⲡϣⲁϥⲉ

And Abram went up out of Egypt, he and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the wilderness.

2 ⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲣⲁⲙⲁⲟ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ⲡⲉ ⲛϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲧⲉⲃⲛⲏ ⲛⲉⲙⲡϩⲁⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩⲃ

And Abram was very rich in cattle, and silver, and gold.

3 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϩⲣⲏⲓ ϩⲓⲡϣⲁϥⲉ ϣⲁⲃⲉⲑⲏⲗ ⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉϥⲥⲕⲩⲛⲏ ⲭⲏ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲃⲉⲑⲏⲗ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲅⲅⲉ

And he went whence he came, into the wilderness as far as Baethel, as far as the place where his tent was before, between Baethel and Aggai,

4 ⲉⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲑⲁⲙⲓⲉ ⲡⲓⲙⲁⲛⲉⲣϣⲱⲟⲩϣⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϫⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲉⲫⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ

to the place of the altar, which he built there at first, and Abram there called on the name of the Lord.

5 ⲗⲱⲧ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱϥ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲑⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲛⲁⲩϣⲟⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϫⲉϩⲁⲛⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲛⲉϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲛⲥⲕⲩⲛⲏ

And Lot who went out with Abram had sheep, and oxen, and tents.

6 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲣⲉⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϣⲱⲡ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϩⲓⲟⲩⲙⲁ ϫⲉⲛⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲟϣ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϣϫⲉⲙϫⲟⲙ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲓ ϩⲓⲟⲩⲙⲁ

And the land was not large enough for them to live together, because their possessions were great; and the land was not large enough for them to live together.

7 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩϣⲟⲛⲧ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲁⲛⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲧⲉⲃⲛⲱⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲁⲛⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲧⲉⲃⲛⲱⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲗⲱⲧ ⲛⲓⲭⲁⲛⲁⲛⲉⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲫⲉⲣⲉⲥⲉⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩϣⲟⲡ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle, and the herdmen of Lot's cattle, and the Chananites and the Pherezites then inhabited the land.

8 ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲗⲱⲧ ϫⲉⲙⲡⲉⲛⲑⲣⲉ ⲟⲩϣⲟⲛⲧ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲟⲩⲧⲱⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲧⲱⲕ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲙⲁⲛⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲕⲙⲁⲛⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ

And Abram said to Lot, Let there not be a strife between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen, for we are brethren.

9 ⲙⲏ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲭⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲙⲑⲟ ⲁⲛ ⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲓⲉ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲉϫⲁϭⲏ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲟⲩⲓⲛⲁⲙ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲉⲟⲩⲓⲛⲁⲙ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉϫⲁϭⲏ

Lo! is not the whole land before thee? Separate thyself from me; if thou to the left, I will go to the right, and if thou goest to the right, I will go to the left.

10 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁ ⲗⲱⲧ ϥⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϯⲡⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲓⲟⲣⲇⲁⲛⲏⲥ ϫⲉⲛⲉ ϣⲁⲥⲥⲱ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉ ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲣⲱϧⲧ ⲛⲥⲟⲇⲟⲙⲁ ⲛⲉⲙⲅⲟⲙⲟⲣⲣⲁ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲉⲙⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲭⲏⲙⲓ ϣⲁⲧⲉⲕⲓ ⲉϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲍⲟⲅⲟⲣⲁ

And Lot having lifted up his eyes, observed all the country round about Jordan, that it was all watered, before God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrha, as the garden of the Lord, and as the land of Egypt, until thou come to Zogora.

11 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲗⲱⲧ ⲛϯⲡⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲓⲟⲣⲇⲁⲛⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲛϫⲉⲗⲱⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲥⲁⲡⲉⲓⲉⲃⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁ ⲫⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲫⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ

And Lot chose for himself all the country round Jordan, and Lot went from the east, and they were separated each from his brother. And Abram dwelt in the land of Chanaan.

12 ⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲭⲁⲛⲁⲁⲛ ⲗⲱⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲡⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟϩ ϧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲇⲟⲙⲁ

And Lot dwelt in a city of the neighbouring people, and pitched his tent in Sodom.

13 ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲇⲟⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲩϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲑⲟ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ

But the men of Sodom were evil, and exceedingly sinful before God.

14 ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁⲑⲣⲉϥⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛϫⲉⲗⲱⲧ ϫⲉϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲃⲁⲗ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲭⲏ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲓⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲉⲡⲉⲙⲉⲛⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲉⲡⲉⲓⲉⲃⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲫⲓⲟⲙ

And God said to Abram after Lot was separated from him, Look up with thine eyes, and behold from the place where thou now art northward and southward, and eastward and seaward;

15 ϫⲉⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲉⲓⲉⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲉⲕϫⲣⲟϫ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ

for all the land which thou seest, I will give it to thee and to thy seed for ever.

16 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲓⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲕϫⲣⲟϫ ⲉⲣ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲓϣⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲟⲩϣϫⲟⲙ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ϭⲓⲏⲡⲓ ⲙⲡⲓϣⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲕϫⲣⲟϫ ⲛⲛⲟⲩϭⲓⲏⲡⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ

And I will make thy seed like the dust of the earth; if any one is able to number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed be numbered.

17 ⲧⲱⲛⲕ ⲙⲉϣⲧ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲉⲧⲉϥϣⲓⲏ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲥⲑⲉⲛ ϫⲉϯⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲛⲁⲕ

Arise and traverse the land, both in the length of it and in the breadth; for to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

18 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϫⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛⲡⲓϣϣⲏⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲙⲁⲙⲃⲣⲉ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛⲭⲉⲃⲣⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲕⲱⲧ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲁⲛⲉⲣϣⲱⲟⲩϣⲓ ⲙⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ

And Abram having removed his tent, came and dwelt by the oak of Mambre, which was in Chebrom, and he there built an altar to the Lord.
