1 ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲡϫⲓⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉⲣⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭ ⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲧⲉⲙⲉⲣⲉⲛⲕⲁⲕⲓⲛ
He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,
2 ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲉϥϯϩⲁⲡ ⲡⲉ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲛϥⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ⲁⲛ ϧⲁⲧϩⲏ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛϥϣⲓⲡⲓ ⲁⲛ ϧⲁⲧϩⲏ ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ .
saying, 'There was a judge in a certain city who didn't fear God, and didn't respect man.
3 ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲭⲏⲣⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ϧⲉⲛϯⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉϭⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲙϣⲓϣ ⲛⲉⲙⲫⲏ ⲉⲧϭⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ .
A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, 'Defend me from my adversary!'
4 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲟⲩⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ϫⲉⲭⲁⲥ ϫⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ϯⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ⲁⲛ ϧⲁⲧⲉϥϩⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛϯϣⲓⲡⲓ ⲁⲛ ϧⲁⲧϩⲏ ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ
He wouldn't for a while, but afterward he said to himself, 'Though I neither fear God, nor respect man,
5 ⲉⲑⲃⲉϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲓⲭⲏⲣⲁ ϯϧⲓⲥⲓ ⲛⲏⲓ ϯⲛⲁϭⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲙϣⲓϣ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲥϣⲧⲉⲙⲓ ϣⲁⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲥϯϧⲓⲥⲓ ⲛⲏⲓ .
yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.''
6 ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯϩⲁⲡ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲁⲇⲓⲕⲓⲁ ϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ .
The Lord said, 'Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲇⲉ ϥⲛⲁϭⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲙϣⲓϣ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲱϣ ⲟⲩⲃⲏϥ ⲙⲡⲓⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲓⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϥⲱⲟⲩⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ
Won't God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 ⲥⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉϥⲛⲁϭⲓ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲙϣⲓϣ ⲛⲭⲱⲗⲉⲙ ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁϥϣⲁⲛⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲁ ϥⲛⲁϫⲉⲙ ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ .
I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?'
9 ⲁϥϫⲟⲥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲛⲧⲙⲏⲓ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩϣⲟϣϥ ⲛⲛⲓⲕⲉⲥⲱϫⲡ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ .
He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.
10 ⲁⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲃϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲡⲓⲉⲣⲫⲉⲓ ⲉⲉⲣⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲧⲉⲗⲱⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲉ .
'Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 ⲡⲓⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲉⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲟϩⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁϥⲉⲣⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ϫⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ϯϣⲉⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲕ ϫⲉϯⲟⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲥⲱϫⲡ ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲣⲉϥϩⲱⲗⲉⲙ ⲛⲣⲉϥϭⲓⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲛⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⲓⲉ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲕⲉⲧⲉⲗⲱⲛⲏⲥ .
The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: 'God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 ϯⲉⲣⲛⲏⲥⲧⲉⲩⲓⲛ ⲛⲥⲟⲡⲃ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ϯϯ ⲙⲫⲣⲉⲙⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉϯϫⲫⲟ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ .
I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.'
13 ⲡⲓⲧⲉⲗⲱⲛⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲟϩⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϩⲓⲫⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲛⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲉⲧⲫⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲁϥⲕⲱⲗϩ ⲡⲉ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲉϥⲙⲉⲥⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲭⲱ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ .
But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn't even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'
14 ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉⲁⲫⲁⲓ ϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉϥⲑⲙⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲏⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲫⲏ ϫⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϭⲁⲥϥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲑⲉⲃⲓⲟϥ ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲑⲉⲃⲓⲟϥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϭⲁⲥϥ .
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.'
15 ⲛⲁⲩⲓⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϩⲁⲛⲁⲗⲱⲟⲩⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲓⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁⲛ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ .
They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲭⲁ ⲛⲓⲁⲗⲱⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲧⲁϩⲛⲟ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
Jesus summoned them, saying, 'Allow the little children to come to me, and don't hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17 ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϣⲉⲡ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲓ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ .
Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.'
18 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛϥ ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϯⲛⲁⲁⲓϥ ⲛⲧⲁⲉⲣⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϧ ⲛⲉⲛⲉϩ
A certain ruler asked him, saying, 'Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?'
19 ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϫⲉⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲕϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ϫⲉⲡⲓⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲗⲓ ⲛⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ .
Jesus asked him, 'Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one–God.
20 ⲛⲓⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲕⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲉⲣⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⲙⲡⲉⲣϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲙⲡⲉⲣϭⲓⲟⲩⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲓⲉ ⲡⲉⲕⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲩ .
You know the commandments: 'Don't commit adultery,' 'Don't murder,' 'Don't steal,' 'Don't give false testimony,' 'Honor your father and your mother.''
21 ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲓⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲧⲁⲙⲉⲧⲁⲗⲟⲩ .
He said, 'I have observed all these things from my youth up.'
22 ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲉⲧⲓ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲕϣⲁⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲕ ⲙⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲟⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲏⲕⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲕⲉϫⲫⲟ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲟ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲥⲱⲓ
When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, 'You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.'
23 ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲁⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲣⲁⲙⲁⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ .
But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24 ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉⲡⲱⲥ ⲥⲙⲟⲕϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲓⲭⲣⲏⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲓ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, 'How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!
25 ⲥⲙⲟⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲧⲉⲟⲩϭⲁⲙⲟⲩⲗⲓ ⲓ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲑⲟⲩⲁⲑⲛⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲙⲁⲛⲑⲱⲣⲡ ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲟⲩⲣⲁⲙⲁⲟ ⲓⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.'
26 ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ϫⲉⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲱϥ ⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϣϫⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ .
Those who heard it said, 'Then who can be saved?'
27 ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉⲛⲓⲁⲧϫⲟⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϣϫⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
But he said, 'The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.'
28 ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲁⲛⲭⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛ ⲁⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲥⲱⲕ .
Peter said, 'Look, we have left everything, and followed you.'
29 ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲗⲓ ⲉⲁϥⲭⲁ ⲏⲓ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲓⲉ ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲓⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲓⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲓⲟϯ ⲓⲉ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉⲑⲃⲉϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ
He said to them, 'Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of God's sake,
30 ϫⲉϥⲛⲁϭⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲛⲕⲱⲃ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲁⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϧ ⲛⲉⲛⲉϩ .
who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.'
31 ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲓⲓⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϣⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲥϧⲏ ⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲣⲱⲙⲓ .
He took the twelve aside, and said to them, 'Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32 ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲥⲱⲃⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣⲟϣϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϩⲓⲑⲁϥ ⲉⲡⲉϥϩⲟ .
For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛⲉⲣⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲅⲟⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϧⲟⲑⲃϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲱⲛϥ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲅ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ .
They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.'
34 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲕⲁϯ ⲉϩⲗⲓ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥϩⲏⲡ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲏ ⲉⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ .
They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn't understand the things that were said.
35 ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥϧⲱⲛⲧ ⲉⲓⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲃⲉⲗⲗⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉϥϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲉϥϣⲁⲧⲙⲉⲑⲛⲁⲓ .
It happened, as he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36 ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲉϥⲥⲓⲛⲓⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ .
Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37 ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲓⲛⲁⲍⲱⲣⲉⲟⲥ ⲥⲓⲛⲓ .
They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲏⲓ .
He cried out, 'Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!'
39 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲛⲁⲩⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲉⲧϩⲏ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁⲛ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲭⲁⲣⲱϥ ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛⲁϥⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲇⲁⲩⲓⲇ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲏⲓ .
Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, 'You son of David, have mercy on me!'
40 ⲉⲧⲁϥⲟϩⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩⲉⲛϥ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲁϥϧⲱⲛⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛϥ
Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41 ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲕⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲛⲧⲁⲁⲓϥ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉⲡⲁϭⲟⲓⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲙⲃⲟⲗ
'What do you want me to do?' He said, 'Lord, that I may see again.'
42 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲙⲃⲟⲗ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲁϩϯ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲕ
Jesus said to him, 'Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.'
43 ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲙⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲉϥϯⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
Immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
