1 ϩⲛⲕⲉⲥⲟⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲁ ⲕⲉⲣⲭⲣⲉⲓⲁ ⲧⲁϩⲟϥ
And on another occasion, another need compelled him,
2 ⲁϥϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲧⲃ ⲙⲡⲓⲉⲣⲟ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉⲡⲁⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ · ⲡϩⲉⲣⲙⲁⲛ ·
he prayed and he crossed the river which is called “that of the golden one, the pomegranate”
3 ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲣⲁⲧϥ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ .
walking on his foot until he went up to its bank.
4 ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲓⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲓⲡⲁϩⲧ ⲛⲁϥ ·
And I, I was amazed (and) I prostrated myself before him:
5 ϫⲉⲉⲕⲁⲓⲥⲑⲁⲛⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲕⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲉⲕⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲓϫⲛⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ .
“How is it that you feel your feet while you walk upon the water?”
6 ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓⲡϩⲗⲗⲟ
He said, that is the old man:
7 ϫⲉϯⲁⲓⲥⲑⲁⲛⲉ ϫⲉⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲩ ϣⲁⲛⲕⲗⲗⲉ ⲛⲣⲁⲧ . ⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ⲡⲉ .
“I feel that the water comes up to the ankles of my foot, but the bottom is firm.”
