1 ⲁⲟⲩⲥⲟⲛ ϩⲛⲛⲣⲓ ϩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲃⲏⲧ ·
A brother at Kellia soaked his palm fronds,
2 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϥⲛⲁϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲟⲩϥⲧ ϣⲁⲣⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ · ϫⲉⲃⲱⲕ ϣⲁⲙⲉϣⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛϩⲗⲗⲟ ·

And he thought to himself, 'Since you are cutting the reeds, the season is about to happen.'
8 ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓϫⲉⲕⲛⲃⲏⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ·
But he answered, 'Let me complete the reeds just so, then I will go.'
9 ϣⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲟⲛ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲙⲓⲛⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲁⲏⲣ ⲙⲡϩⲟⲟⲩ ·
Again he said to himself, 'But the air today is good.'
10 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲕⲁⲛⲃⲏⲧ ⲉⲩϩⲟⲣⲡ ·
And immediately, he stood and he set down the soaked palm fronds.
11 ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲙⲉⲗⲱⲧⲏ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ·
He took his sheepskin and he left.
12 ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩϩⲗⲗⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲩⲱϥ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲕⲁⲗⲱⲥ
There was an old man near him who saw rightly.
13 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥⲡⲏⲧ ⲁϥϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ · ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲭⲙⲁⲗⲱⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ·
And when he saw him running, he cried out to him, saying, 'Prisoner, come here!'
14 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓ · ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓⲡϩⲗⲗⲟ ϫⲉⲕⲧⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓ ϩⲛⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ·
And when he had come, the old man said to him, 'Return to your cell quickly!'
15 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲁⲡⲥⲟⲛ ϫⲱ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲙⲡⲡⲟⲗⲉⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲓⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ·
And in this way the brother told him about the battle with all these thoughts that came into his heart.
16 ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲣⲓ · ⲁϥⲡⲁϩⲧϥ ⲁϥϯⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲁ ·
When he went into his cell, he prostrated himself and repented.
17 ⲉⲁϥϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲥⲙⲏ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲣⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲛⲁⲭⲟⲥ
The demon, crying out in a great voice, said, 'You have defeated us, o monks!'
18 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲙⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲣⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲁⲡⲕⲱϩⲧ
