1 ⲁⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ ϫⲟⲟⲥ
Another one of our fathers said:
2 ϫⲉϣϣⲉ ⲉⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲕⲁⲟⲩⲉⲣⲅⲁⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲓϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ·
A person must determine for themself a labor within them.
3 ⲉϥϣⲁⲛⲥⲉⲣϥ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲅⲁⲥⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ · ϣⲁⲣⲉⲡϫⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϩⲛⲥⲟⲡ ⲥⲟⲡ · ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲉϥϭⲛⲙⲁ ⲛⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ . ⲻ
If, say, they apply themself to the labor of God, then the enemy will visit them from time to time but will not find a dwelling place within them.
4 ⲉⲩϣⲁⲛⲣϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛⲧⲉⲭⲙⲁⲗⲱⲥⲓⲁ ⲙⲡϫⲁϫⲉ · ϣⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲟⲛ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛϩⲛⲥⲟⲡ ⲥⲟⲡ ·
Ⲓf, on the contrary, the captivity of the enemy rules them, then the spirit of God will still visit them on occasion.
5 ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉϥϣⲁⲛⲧⲙⲕⲁⲙⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ ϣⲁϥⲁⲛⲁⲭⲱⲣⲉⲓ . ⲻ
But if the person does not make room for the spirit, then the spirit will withdraw because of the evil.
