1 ϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲉⲙⲛⲧⲁⲩ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲛϩⲉⲛϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲥⲁⲣⲝ ·

But people who do not have sons and daughters according to the flesh,

2 ⲏ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲩ , ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲁⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ

or who have renounced those they did have,

3 ⲙⲛϩⲉⲛϩⲩⲡⲁⲣⲭⲟⲛⲧⲁ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ · ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲙⲡⲧⲱϩⲙ

along with their numerous material possessions, because they wished to follow according to the worth of the calling,

4 ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲃⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ·

which called them to this life

5 ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲓⲟⲩⲣ ⲙⲛⲙⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ . ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲅⲕⲣⲁⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲙⲙⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ·

are indeed eunuchs and virgins—and this means you, brethren, as well as everyone everywhere on the whole earth who is celibate,

6 ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲅⲁⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲧⲁⲉⲓⲏⲩ ⲙⲛⲡⲙⲁ ⲛⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲧⲧⲃⲃⲏⲩ · ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲓϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲓϩⲁⲓ · ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣϩⲛⲁⲩ

either those who have not known honorable marriage and the pure bed, or those who took a wife or husband but when they were willing

7 ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲙⲡϣⲟϫⲛⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ

through God by the counsel of the one who said,

8 ϫⲉⲡⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϥⲓ . ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥϥⲓ ·

‘Let whoever can receive, receive.'

9 ⲁⲩⲁⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲙⲡⲅⲁⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲧⲁⲉⲓⲏⲩ , ⲙⲛⲡⲙⲁ ⲛⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲧⲧⲃⲃⲏⲩ

They renounced honorable marriage, and the pure bed,

10 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲁⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲩϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ · ⸖ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲩⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲩⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ . ⲙⲛϩⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁⲩ ·

and they renounced their sons, their daughters, their siblings, their parents and everything they had,

11 ⲉⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ , ⲙⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ .

remembering the word of the Lord,

12 ϫⲉⲡⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ϣⲁⲣⲟⲓ , ⲉϥⲙⲟⲥⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲛⲧⲉϥⲙⲁⲁⲩ · ⲙⲛⲛⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ · ⲙⲛⲛⲉϥⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉϥⲥⲱⲛⲉ , ⲉⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲕⲉⲯⲩⲭⲏ .

'The one who follows me must hate his father and his mother, his children, his brothers and sisters and even also his own soul.' (Lk. 14:26)

13 ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁϣϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲣⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ·

These in this way are those who are capable of being disciples of the Lord, according to the Scriptures.

14 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉⲥⲓⲟⲩⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ ·

And these people are the eunuchs, who do not have children according to the flesh.

15 ⲉⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ · ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ·

But they instead are fathers to many children of God,

16 ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲛ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲉ , ⲙⲙⲁⲩ . ⲏ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲩ . ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ . ⲉⲁⲩⲁⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲛϩⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲁⲩ .

because, since they do not have children, or renounced all those they did have along with all their material possessions,

17 ⲁⲩϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ·

they 'took their cross and followed the Lord.'

18 ϩⲛⲧⲉⲓⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ , ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ·

And such are our holy ancestors, the prophets and the apostles,

19 ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲥⲓⲟⲩⲣ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ·

who truly were 'eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of God,'

20 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲧϩⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲗⲁⲟⲥ · ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ

and as a result they were fathers to many people, according to the saying of the Lord,

21 ϫⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲕⲁⲏⲓ ⲛⲥⲱϥ · ⲏ ⲥⲟⲛ . ⲏ ⲥⲱⲛⲉ · ⲏ ⲉⲓⲱⲧ · ⲏ ⲙⲁⲁⲩ · ⲏ ⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ · ⲏ ϣⲏⲣⲉ · ⲏ ϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ · ⲏ ⲥⲱϣⲉ , ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛ . ϥⲛⲁϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲕⲱⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲉⲓ , ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ :

Everyone who renounces household, or brother or sister, or father or mother, or wife, or son or daughter, or community, he will receive them back manifold and will inherit eternal life.'

22 ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ , ⲙⲡⲱⲣ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲣⲟϣ ⲉⲡⲉⲧϩⲓⲧⲟⲩⲱϥ ϩⲙⲡⲉⲛⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲛⲧϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲛ . ⲉⲛⲡⲏϣ ϩⲙⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ·

Therefore, brethren, do not let each one of us be a burden to our neighbor due to the alienation which exists among us and by it we are divided in our hearts towards our companions

23 ϫⲉⲥⲉⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲛⲙⲟⲕⲙⲉⲕ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲥⲁⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ [..] ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲛ [..] ⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉⲛϥⲓ ⲡⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ·

so that we, by our thoughts which only seem wise to ourselves alone (Isa 5:21), are forced to not take care of our companions.

24 ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲱⲥ ϣⲃⲣⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ .

But as fellow-laborers of God,

25 ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϥⲓϩⲁⲡⲉⲧϩⲓⲧⲟⲩⲱϥ ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲛⲟϭ . ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲓ ·

Let each one of us support our neighbor, either senior or junior in rank,

26 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲛⲙⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ .

and let us love living with our companions peacefully,

27 ⲁϫⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ϩⲓⲕⲣⲟϥ · ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛⲛⲉϥⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏϩ ϩⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ :

without sin or deceit, just as God and his angels live in heaven.

28 ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲣⲙⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲉⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲩⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ·

[Who] are the children of wise men who will not wish to do the work which their righteous father did?

29 ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲥⲁⲃⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲉⲟ ⲛⲛⲟϭ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ :

Which wise brother will not follow the pattern of their faithful brethren who are superior in rank to them?

30 ⲉⲧⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲥⲟⲫⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲉⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲡⲉⲩⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲧϩⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ

This means: which wise people will not wish to do the works which their father who is in heaven did;

31 ⲉⲧⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲛⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ

who is God and our Lord Jesus?

32 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ . ⲙⲛⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ . ⲙⲛⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲟⲥ

Moreover, they follow the pattern of the angels of the Lord and the pattern of the prophets and the pattern of Paul, and all the apostles who said,

33 ϫⲉⲟⲩⲉϩⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲉⲛⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲱϣ . ⲧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲧⲉⲛⲙⲛⲧϩⲁⲣϣϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲉⲛⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ · ⲧⲉⲛϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ · ⲛⲉⲛⲇⲓⲱⲅⲙⲟⲥ · ⲛⲉⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ ·

Follow our pattern, our ordinance, our faith, our patience, our love, our endurance, our persecutions, our labors.'

34 ⲉⲓⲧⲁ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲧⲁⲁⲛ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲥⲙⲟⲧ ·

Then also, 'We gave ourselves to you as a pattern [to follow].'

35 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉϫⲓ ϭⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲡϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧϩⲁⲣϣϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ · ⸖

And also, “Receive, my brethren, the pattern of the labor and patience of the prophets.”

36 ⲡⲁⲗⲓⲛ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉⲉⲕⲉⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲛⲥⲙⲟⲧ ϩⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ

Again, You will make yourself a pattern in everything.'

37 ⲉⲓⲧⲁ ⲟⲛ ϫ[ⲉ] ⲛϩⲗⲗⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ·

Then also, 'The elder women of this sort are a holy pattern.'

38 ⲙⲁⲗⲓⲥⲧⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲧⲁⲙⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ .

And most especially the Scriptures teach us about our Lord Jesus,

39 ϫⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲕⲱ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲙⲟⲧ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲉⲧⲛⲁⲟⲩⲉϩⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲥⲁⲛⲉϥϩⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ ·

that he is the one who set for you a pattern so that you might follow his lead.

40 ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲱⲃ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ . ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ , ϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϥϭⲓϫ ·

What is the work of God and our Lord Jesus except the work of his hands?

41 ⸖ ⲛⲉϥϭⲓϫ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲡⲗⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟⲛ :

It was his hands that formed us and created us.

42 ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲡⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ , ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ · ⸖ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ

Therefore, according to the Scriptures, God and our Lord Jesus work to save all humanity up to now, according to the saying of the apostle,

43 ϫⲉⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ

The one who works for us is God.'

44 ⲁϣ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲛⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ .

What is the pattern of the angels in heaven,

45 ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ , ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲏⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲧϩⲁⲉⲟⲟⲩ . ⲉⲩⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩϯⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ·

except every day to complete their glorious deeds, blessing and praising God and our Lord Jesus,

46 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓⲁ ϣⲁⲛⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲓϫⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲉⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ·

and so to complete all the duties for those on earth so that they will inherit salvation?

47 ⲁϣ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲟⲧⲡⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ . ⲉϣⲡϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ ·

What is the pattern of the prophets and apostles except to choose to suffer with others even unto death?

48 ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ . ⲉⲩⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲥⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ . ⲉⲩϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲉϫⲛⲛⲉⲧⲡⲏⲧ ⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩ ·

And in all these things they give thanks to the Lord, blessing those who curse them, praying for those who persecute them,

49 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉϥⲧⲱⲱⲃⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ , ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ . ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ · ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲥⲩⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ

and praying to God that he will not take vengeance on those who kill them and whip them even as they [drag?] them

50 ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲡⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ .

and who throw them out of the city,

51 ⲙⲛⲛⲉϣⲁⲩⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲛⲛⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛⲛⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ ·

as happened to all [the prophets and apostles] in the synagogues and the sanhedrin,

52 ⲙⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲉϣⲁⲩϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲛϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲣⲣⲱⲟⲩ . ⲙⲛϩⲉⲛⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ , ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ .

and as was done to them by governors and kings, with great sufferings even unto death.
