1 ⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉϥⲧⲱⲱⲃⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ · ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲥⲩⲣⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ

that he will not take vengeance on those who kill them and whip them even as they [drag?] them

2 ⲛⲥⲉⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲡⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ

and who throw them out of the city,

3 ⲙⲛⲛⲉϣⲁⲩⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲛⲛⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛⲛⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ ·

as happened to all [the prophets and apostles] in the synagogues and the sanhedrin,

4 ⲙⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲉϣⲁⲩϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲛϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ · ⲙⲛϩⲉⲛⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ ·

and as was done to them by governors and kings, with great sufferings even unto death.

5 ⲉⲛⲉⲓⲣⲉ ϭⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲓⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ·

And so we remember the sufferings of all the saints,

6 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛϯ ⲛϩⲧⲏⲛ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲕⲁⲧⲁⲫⲣⲟⲛⲉⲓ ⲙⲡϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ·

and we consider how our Lord Jesus despised shame

7 ⲉⲁϥϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲛ ·

as he remained steadfast on the cross for all our salvation,

8 ϫⲉⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ·

because he is our savior, he is our Lord and our father.

9 ⲉⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲡⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛϣⲁⲛϩⲧⲏϥ ϥϥⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲛ ϫⲓⲛϫⲱϥ ⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ · ϣⲁⲁⲣⲏϫⲥ ⲛⲧⲟⲓⲕⲟⲩⲙⲉⲛⲏ

And also we know that the good and compassionate God supports all of us from the start of the earth to the ends of the inhabited world,

10 ϫⲓⲛⲧⲁⲣⲭⲏ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϩⲓϫⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ·

from the beginning when he created the human being on the earth until today.

11 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲉϥⲛⲁϥⲓ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲥⲩⲛⲧⲉⲗⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲱⲛ · ϩⲙⲡⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲛⲁ

And he also will support [us] in the multitude of his mercy until the consummation of the ages,

12 ϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲉϥϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ · ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲛⲣⲣⲟ ·

for we are his servants and he is our ruler and our king.

13 ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲛⲁⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉⲛϥⲓ ϩⲁⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ · ϫⲉⲛⲛⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϭⲱⲛⲧ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ϫⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉⲛⲱⲥⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛϥⲓ ϩⲁⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϥⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ · ⲙⲛⲛⲉϥⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ · ⲉⲧϥⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲛ ϫⲓⲛⲧⲁⲣⲭⲏ ⲙⲡⲥⲱⲛⲧ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ ·

Therefore let us not renounce such that we do not support our companions, so that God does not become angry with us, for because we did not delay to support our companions as the Lord, in the way the Lord, and his Christ, and his holy angels have supported us from the beginning of creation until today and forevermore.

14 ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲛⲣϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ · ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲟⲣⲫⲏ ⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧⲛ

But let us be servants to one another, like Jesus, who took the form of a servant for us,

15 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲡϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ·

and like Paul, the servant of Jesus,

16 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ · ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ · ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ · ⲙⲛⲡⲉϥⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ

and like all the apostles and prophets who were servants to the Lord and his Christ,

17 ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ · ϫⲉⲁⲓⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϣⲱⲣⲡ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲓⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥⲉ · ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ·

according to the Scriptures, saying, 'I sent you my servants, the prophets on the day at the first hour; I sent them and you did not listen.'

18 ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲣϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲏ ⲡⲉϥⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲟⲧⲡⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϣⲡϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ · ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲛⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ

How have the prophets and the apostles been servants to the Lord and his Christ except that they chose to labor with others and that they died for the name of Jesus?

19 ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϣⲣⲡⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϫⲉⲛⲉⲛⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲁϥϩⲱⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ · ⲉϥⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ·

Therefore, when the Lord Jesus realizes that our fathers, the apostles, would do anything that he commanded them to do, he will leave them up to heaven, according to the Scriptures;

20 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲓⲛⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ·

and thus they completed what he commanded them to do from the beginning, while the Lord of glory, Jesus, was with them.

21 ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉϯⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϭⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲓⲛⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲛⲁϩⲙϩⲁⲗ · ϫⲉⲙⲡϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ·

Therefore he said to them, 'I will not call you my servants from now on because the servant does not know what his master is doing.

22 ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲓⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲉⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲁϣⲃⲉⲉⲣ · ϫⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓⲥⲟⲧⲙⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲁⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲓⲧⲁⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ·

But I will call you my brothers and my companions because I have told you all the things I have heard from my father.'

23 ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲧⲡⲧ ·

He said, 'It was not you who chose me

24 ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲓⲥⲉⲧⲡⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ·

but it was I who chose you,

25 ⲁⲩⲱ ϯϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϣ

and I send you out like sheep in the midst of wolves.

26 ⲙⲡⲣⲣϩⲟⲧⲉϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲙⲁ ·

Do not fear the people who will kill your (pl.) body.

27 ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ⲛⲥⲱⲓ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲡⲱⲧ ⲛⲥⲁⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ·

If they persecuted me, surely they will persecute you.

28 ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲱⲧⲛ ·

If they guarded my saying, surely they will guard yours.

29 ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲏⲓ ϫⲉⲃⲉⲉⲗⲍⲉⲃⲟⲩⲗ · ⲉⲓⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲛⲟϭⲛⲉϭ ⲛⲟⲩⲏⲣ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲣⲙⲛⲏⲓ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲕⲱⲙϣ ⲙⲛⲟⲩⲥⲱϣϥ ·

If they called the master of the house, ‘Beelzebol,' 'then how much [more] will they insult a member of his household sneeringly and insultingly?'

30 ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ϫⲉⲧⲛⲧϭⲁⲓⲏⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲏⲣ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲉⲛⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ , ϩⲛⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲥ ·

See now, brethren, how much we are disgraced because our fathers, the prophets and apostles, completed great sufferings in a great servitude

31 ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲥⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ·

in the midst of evil and good, and in the midst of those who hated them and those who loved them?

32 ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱⲱⲛ ⲛⲧⲛϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲛϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ·

And we ourselves, are we not ashamed to say,

33 ϫⲉⲛⲧⲛⲛⲁϥⲓ ⲡⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲥⲛⲏⲩ

'We will not take care of our brethren,'

34 ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲧⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲙⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲁⲁⲛ ⲛⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲛⲑⲛⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲛϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ

revealing that we are unworthy of the gift of the Lord, who made us worthy to approach him through deeds–

35 ⲛⲧⲛⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ·

We are not worthy of them.

36 ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲛ ⲏ ϩⲁⲧⲛⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲡⲱϩⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ·

Therefore let no male monks or female monks in your community pour forth the gift of the Lord

37 ⲛⲥⲉⲡⲱⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲁⲩϭⲁⲗⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲩⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ·

and flee from taking care of others who were entrusted to them through God,

38 ⲛⲧϩⲉ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲁϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ϫⲓⲛⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ·

just as others have taken care of them from the beginning

39 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ϥⲓⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲛⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ , ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲛⲧⲉϩⲣⲉ · ⲙⲛⲧϩⲃⲥⲱ · ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ϩⲙⲡⲉⲩϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲙⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟ ⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲛⲉⲧϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ·

and still now there are others taking care of them in everything, either in teaching of the Scriptures or with food and clothing and also in their sickness and everything by which those who care for them are servants to all of them.

40 ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲱⲣ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲉⲛϫⲓⲟⲩⲁ ϫⲉⲛⲉⲧⲁⲣⲭⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲛ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲧⲟ ⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ·

Therefore let us not say blasphemously, ‘Those who rule us are our masters

41 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲉⲛϩⲁⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲓϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ·

and we are beneath them like these servants.'

42 ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲁⲣⲭⲉⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲛ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉⲧϩⲓϫⲱⲛ ·

Those who rule us are not over us,

43 ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲧϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ · ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲧϩⲁⲣⲁⲧⲛ ·

but we are over them and they are beneath us,

44 ⲏ ⲉⲩⲟ ⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲥⲉϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ ϩⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ·

indeed they serve us because they take care of us in everything through God.

45 ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲁⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ · ⲙⲛⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ · ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϫⲓⲛⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲣϩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ϫⲉⲉⲩⲉϫⲓ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ·

How was it that the prophets and the apostles and all the saints from the first until now were willing to be servants to others, so that they might receive [eternal] life,

46 ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ϫⲉⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ , ⲉⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲟⲣⲫⲏ ⲛϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧⲛ ·

except that they saw the Lord of glory, Jesus, take the form of a servant for our sakes?

47 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲓⲛⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲣϩⲱⲃ ϩⲱⲥ ϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲉ , ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲣⲣⲟ ⲡⲉ ·

Moreover, from the beginning, God also became a workman like a servant, he being Lord and king,

48 ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲧϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ·

in as much as he created his angels as spirits, as it is written,

49 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲙⲡⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ·

and in as much as he created the entirety out of that which did not exist;

50 ⲁϥⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ , ⲙⲛⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ·

he caused everything to exist: the heavens, and the earth and everything in them, according to the Scriptures,

51 ϫⲉⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲁⲕⲥⲙⲥⲛⲧⲉ ⲙⲕⲁϩ ·

You established the foundations of the earth.

52 ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲕϭⲓϫ ⲛⲉ ⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ·

Your manual labor is the heavens.

53 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ·

And even as he spoke so that everything might exist,

54 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲙⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ·

and they all came into existence by his commandment,

55 ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩ · ⲙⲛⲛⲕⲉⲧⲃⲛⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲥⲱϣⲉ · ⲙⲛⲛϩⲁⲗⲁⲧⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ·

the days and the sheep and all the other beasts of the field, and all the birds in the sky,

56 ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲛⲙⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲓⲟⲟⲩⲉ · ⲙⲛⲛϣⲏⲛ ⲉⲧϯⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ · ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲧⲣⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ·

and the things in the water, and the trees that bear fruit and all the things that grow on the earth, according to the Scriptures.

57 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲁϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲁϥⲥⲩⲙⲃⲟⲩⲗⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲛⲡϣⲣⲡ ⲙⲙⲓⲥⲉ ⲛⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ·

And also even as God took soil from the earth, and he consulted with the first-born child of all creation, Jesus,

58 ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲁⲧⲉⲩϩⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ · ϫⲉⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲧⲉⲛϩⲓⲕⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲛⲉ ,

who existed before everything, saying, ‘Let us create a human being according to our image and according to our likeness',

59 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲧⲉⲩϩⲓⲕⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ·

and when they created the human being according to their image and according to their likeness, according to the Scriptures,

60 ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲓϥⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲛⲟⲏ ⲛⲱⲛϩ ·

God breathed into him a breath of life.

61 ⲁⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲉⲥⲟⲛϩ ·

The human being became as a living soul,

62 ⲟⲩϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲛⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲧϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ·

male and female God created them, as it is written.

63 ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲱϭⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲥⲟⲥ ϩⲛⲉⲇⲉⲙ ⲁϥⲕⲱ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛ

And even as God planted a garden in Eden, he put the person in it . . .
